What I'm Learning. . .Thanks Beth Moore

I realized that I'm blogging a lot about what I'm learning through adoption, but not enough about the other stuff! I am in 2 small groups and learning a ton through both of them! So, you guys can now expect posts every other Monday (after our every other Sunday Night Girl's study) and every Friday (after our Friday morning Mom's group). . .

Last night, we watched session 5's video in Beth Moore's Daniel study. Here is what stuck out to me. . . Daniel 5:12 says, "This man Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means." The phrase for "solve difficult problems" is literally translated "loosening of knots". Beth pointed out that if you feel like you are in the middle of the knot, know that God can, in His wisdom, enable you with the wisdom to "loosen the knots" or "solve difficult problems". Well, I don't know about you, but I've got some knots around me. I'm not in the middle of all of these knots, yet still deeply troubled by them. I realized last night that I often take God off his throne and forget just how big, wise, and sovereign our God really is. I begin to look around and I despair b/c there doesn't seem to be any possible way for these "knots" to get worked out in a way that everyone is ok. So, today I confess my lack of trust, my taking my eyes of who He is and focusing on the "knots" themselves and just how big and tangled they are. Instead, I beg God to give someone the gift of Daniel to "loosen the knots". Lord, give us wisdom but even more help us to trust in the midst of the knots in our lives. We know that NONE of them are too big or too tangled for you to handle. So, we Praise You Lord in the Knot. . .possibly the new version to the Casting Crowns' song, "Praise You in the Storm"???

I sang that very song yesterday while driving...lifting my hands and singing quite loudly I might add :) I don't know what He is doing in everything, but I know that He is at work. I am praising Him in the midst of the storm and watching for the beauty He brings from it. love you
