Excited about the Ticket

I am finally excited! Yes, Sarah has done it to me. . .she's pushed me over the edge. . .from being a ho-hum 'I guess I'll vote for McCain' voter to a "I have a Ticket I can be proud of!" kind of a girl! And, not just because she's a woman!

--side note: I don't think it's smart or rational to vote for someone just because of their gender or race! Hints the reason I wouldn't have voted for Hillary and I will NOT be voting for Obama. As much as I would love to see a black president, it is about ISSUES and voting for Obama simply based on race (and I won't even get into the fact that I think he is using the Kenya link as he was raised by his mom in Kansas!) would be wrong--(ps: I'm not saying that if you vote for Obama that is your reason)

I love that we have a PRO-ADOPTION ticket with McCain. You guys DO know that the McCain's have an adopted special needs child, right? Cindy McCain went to Bangledesh and visited one of Mother Theresa's orphanages. She ended up bringing 2 precious children home with her on medical visas. They ended up adopting their daughter and found family friends to adopt the other little girl. . AND, have paid for that other little girl's many medical procedures through the years! I love that we don't even know this! Read more HERE

Enter: Sarah Palin! A 44 year old Mama of 5!!! I can say that any mother of 5 who also happens to run a state is DEFINITELY qualified to help run our country! right, moms?! Some of the things I already love about her that will affect her governing. Her 18 year old son is in the Army. This gives us such a strong military ticket with McCain being a VET and POW! Also, Palin is PRO-LIFE where and when it counts. This April, she gave birth to her 5th child who has Down Syndrome. Barack Obama fights for moms just like her to have the ability to abort at this stage. . in case, they don't want to be bothered or can't handle special needs. Well, Palin views it differently. In fact, when her precious little one was born, she sent out this email according to the Anchorage Daily News: "Many people will express sympathy, but you don't want or need that, because Trig will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this." She wrote it in the voice of and signed it as "Trig's Creator, Your Heavenly Father." Amen, Sarah!! Thanks for not only supporting life, but practicing what you preach! I can't wait for you to debate!

I am so proud to have a ticket that I know promotes life. This is in such sharp contrast to Obama who refused to sign the Born Alive Act to give medical care to babies BORN after botched Abortions. Yep, he voted to let them die in closets. Read more HERE. This is not an emotional outburst, but FACT. I have researched it!

Also, if you are listening to the news and question Sarah's qualifications, check out this info: (I wish I could link to it, but it was a comment on another blog. . but I learned so much that I wanted to pass it on! Written by "Dave H")
As a former Alaskan, I can tell you libs that you're greatly mis-informed of the
complexities of the job of being Governor of Alaska. Spouting the low population
of the state when you speak about it only shows your ignorance of Alaska and
it's complicated politics.Alaska is a vast state 2700 miles wide and 1400 miles
tall with 1/3 the shoreline of our entire country. It has over a
million
lakes, over 100,000 glaciers, it borders 2 foreign countries, has 229 Indian and
native tribes who the government has to deal with, has America's main fishing
industry with all the regulation involved, is a huge mining state, and is
America's oil and natural gas capital. The state has one of the largest Homeland
Security response centers which is run in conjunction with the Governor and
state gov't. Alaska also has 3 army bases, 3 air force bases, and 5 coast guard
bases. All this with rough roads that need constant re-building, hundreds of
remote villages that require schools, health care, affordable fuel and
transportation. Then consider the special interest lobbies that represent all
these interests and their influence on politicians. If any of you think running
Alaska is like running a city the size of Austin (like a CNN host just said),
you are grossly non-informed.

I Agree!! I received a call the other day asking if I would be voting for Obama or McCain. All I could answer was not Obama. They said what about McCain and I said I was not decided yet. This did it for me. And this is the first time I could get behind ANY VP for elections.

I am right there with you! I read up on her when I found out about McCain's decision and I am in LOVE! Especially when I found out she has a child with DS, I actually pray that God would bless us with the chance to parent a child with DS. It so hurts my heart to think of those who see it as a curse and don't follow through.

She also seems to be very strong in what she believes is right and not afraid to stand up for it. I love that! AND, she is a member of an A/G church, I am sure I read somewhere. Oh, I so hope that they win. This is exciting.

Great post Brandi. I am with you on this, I wasn't looking forward to the election because McCain is not all that fabulous, but now with the new vp he picked, we have something to look forward to. Awesome!

I just found your comment asking for information on Sarah Palin's church--sorry I missed it earlier; you might have already found this by now, but I know that she was raised in the Wasilla Assembly of God, and attends Juneau Christian Center when she's in the capital. When she's back home in Wasilla, I'm not sure if she's still at the AG--I've also seen references to her being a part of a different congregation (it might just be called Wasilla Bible Church).
