The hills. . .why oh why do I look there?

Ahhhh. . ..not much I enjoy more than sitting on the front porch, on a swing overlooking the mountains. So relaxing. While gazing at this view, I thought of these words

Psalm 121:1-2
"I lift my eyes unto the hills. Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth"(If you are like me, you are also singing those words)
Can't you just picture someone scanning the horizon for help. Looking up one hill and down the other for who will come to the rescue.

Don't we do this? scan the horizon for help. . .

Here's what I LOVE: "my help comes from the Lord, maker of Heaven and Earth"

I hear it this way. . ."You look at the hills, I see you scanning them for your help. . guess what? stop looking at the hills, the one who MADE them is your help"

Not only do I not have to scan and wonder about where my help comes from, but my help is coming from someone much bigger than anything / place / person I might be scanning.

"I lift my eyes unto the Hills, Where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD, maker of heaven and earth" ~Psalm 121:1-2

Amen! I love that the One who made those beautiful hills is the One on His way to our aid and by our side. Thanks for the reminder that my help comes from no one else but the King.

One of my favorite verses, Brandi. When I lived in Honduras (in the mountains), this verse LITERALLY sustained me. It was my mantra for weeks and months. Well said, and gorgeous photo.
