Not Lacking in Anything

Every we week we focus on the poor, the hungry and the oppressed...all groups who are living thru intense suffering. Truthfully, I can't even imagine what most of them go through each day - scraping to get just one meal, suffering at the hands of others, living enslaved. It is honestly very hard for me to even understand why the Lord allows these horrors to continue.

So, as we pray and beg that the Lord will rescue them in their circumstances, let's also pray for their hearts. James 1 says, "²Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,³because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.⁴Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

My prayer for each one of us, as well as the poor hungry and oppressed is that we be found not lacking in anything. I pray that as they face trials that boggle my mind, that the circumstances would refine them rather than crush them. Will you join me in this?

Remember the Poor:

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God..., thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (I Tim 6:17, 19). Praying for myself and the western church, that we would not miss out on that which is truly life; that God would allow our eyes to be opened to see where the true riches lie, and that we would turn and chase after them with everything we've got.

Praise: The Kalamazoo Launch was amazing. 150 kids sponsored by this church of 400! Please pray, they would still like to see another 110 kids sponsored. Pray for the church to continue to rise up and pray for His blessings to flow over this church who are clearly living out the gospel!
