The wedding!

How cute are my kids? We just got back from our wonderful weekend spent in Naples. We had the joy of watching Greg's Sister, Laura marry her wonderful Love, Slim! It was a blast. We started the fun with a rehearsal on Thursday night, during which the entire time the pastor prayed, Gracie said "hi" over and over! Then, we had a yummy Italian dinner and back to the hotel for some needed sleep! (By the way, I WAY recommend Embassy Suites for those with kids!) Friday morning, us girls (all the Bridesmaids) went for Pedicures and Manicures! That night, we had a fabulous time of praise and worship at their church, Summit Church (interesting side note: one the lead pastors there is Greg's roommate from college who is married to one of my roommates! So, it is always fun to go see them and participate in Summit services. This is a wonderful church with a great vision to reach people with the gospel in a missional way!) It was also fun, b/c Slim (the groom) in on the Summit Worship band and works at the church. We spent time in praise and worship and then had a time of prayer for Slim and Laura. Funny side note: Brayden was thrilled to go up and lay hands on them for prayer. Then, in the middle of my prayer (I am known to be a long "pray-er") he kept saying, "amen, mommy". SO embarrassing and hard to concentrate, so I wrapped it up quickly! Then, he wanted to pray and prayed, "Jesus, we thank you for your wove (love)" Too cute! Saturday morning, it was bright and early for a bridal breakfast where we all got mushy and shared how much we love Laura and see Jesus in her! From there, it was off to hair appointments and the church. It was such a fun wedding to participate in. I was honored to stand up for Laura and Gracie was her flowergirl with Brayden serving as ring bearer. I was a bit nervous, but the kids did great. Gracie started crying halfway down the aisle, so I just poked my head in the aisle way and bent down and she came running to me. They left the sanctuary with Nana to watch from the church foyer (thanks, Mom!) The reception afterwards was an absolute BLAST! Brayden was thrilled to go to "Aunt Laura's Party" for a little while and actually loved being introduced. Gracie however, sat on the ground crying as soon as they opened the door and introduced them. It was too funny! Laura had the foresight to actually get a sitter for the hotel, so the kids scooted up to bed and we got to stay up and PARTY!!! Check out these pics of the wonderful event !!! We love you Slim and Laura!

Awww... what a great post. It was so fun to see all the pictures and "experience" the wedding and reception through your stories. You looked gorgeous!! As did the bride. I just love weddings!! They always take me back to ours...

Your kids ARE too cute! I have a close friend with a daughter (named Faith!) around Gracie's age who looks so much like her. They could be twins! (or at least sisters...) I'll have to send you a picture sometime because it is crazy how much alike they look!

I'm glad you had such a great time. Thanks for sharing it with us.

And I think the idea of a spring fling somewhere in the middle is a GREAT idea! It's going to be hard to wait an entire year before getting to stay up late talking and laughing and REALLY getting to know all you great gals... Just let me know when and where!

So Brandi,
Did you know you're going to have to adopt a girl from Liberia, too, now??? ;0) Kendra has the same Old Navy dress that Gracie's wearing in these pics, and let me tell you, it looks beeeyoootifull on her brown skin! So you'll need to adopt a girl now, too, so you can use that dress again!! ;0)
Love,
Jamie Z.

Yep, we found out about Scott's deployment 2 weeks ago! Funny thing is that we were assured Scott would not deploy again before we get out of the Navy (Dec. 08). We thought, "Awesome, perfect time to adopt" Ha, Ha, Ha! I believe God kept us in the dark to this one so that we'd obey regardless of our fears!!!!
Anyway, it'll work out, I am sure of that. We took our referrals 2 months ago. I'm gonna be a single mama of 4 (Yikes). Praying Scott will be able to be there to pick them up and bond for at least a month. While it seems impossible w/ Alma and such, our God is the God of possibility!
Love ya,
Katy
