Today, I received Rapha's budget in my email. I was perusing it when I noticed a specific budget line item. Burials. $200 usd was budgetted for burials in 2009.
That stopped me in my tracks.
I have read over ministry budgets, have created ministry budgets and have analyzed them before. . .I have NEVER seen burials as a line item. This is what it means. This is life and death for these precious children. This is why we MUST get involved.
My heart overflows with thankfulness for our friend, Christine, who purchased mosquito nets for all of the Rapha children while we were there. I am sure that she saved lives. I am thankful that they finally have clean water to drink. (thank you again to all who gave) I wonder, What else must be done to take away that budget item?
$200 US dollars. . that's 300,000 shillings. . .for burying their children. it had to be budgeted. My heart is broken.

oh my goodness, i would never have thought of that, either. thanks so much for bringing the reality and the hope to light!
Another reality we can't even imagine! So heartbreaking. I can't wait to see all the wonderful things God has planned for the people in Ugunda through CHC and partnering church's. Thanks for being a voice for those that do not have one. We all need to be reminded daily.
Some things just never get thought of..this is an amazing fact of life for them. So sad!
