Our First Trip to the Cabin

Yes, it's as if we can't stay in one place for ANY length of time this month!

The kids and I packed up last evening to head out of town with my mom o their new cabin in N. Georgia. We had a bit of a rocky start because we were planning on leaving first thing Saturday morning, but my mom threw up all night long the night before! aagh. But, she seemed much better the next day and slept a lot, hoping to be fully recovered. By 5, we were ready to head out! We drove all the way to Atlanta, grabbed a hotel for the night and finished the drive this morning. Tonight, my little "explorers" went on a hike around the cabin. Next, we grilled hot dogs over the open fire and made s'mores for the first time!
They were so cute. Brayden kept telling us what "real" explorers do and how we should sit together on the rock. They loved eating hot dogs that they had made themselves!

We ended the night in the most amazing fashion. . .sitting in the hot tub, outside under the stars! I know, I'm a city girl. . .but the stars here are AMAZING! We turned off the porch and hot tub lights and snuggled in the hot tub, just the kids and I, and talked about how God knew every star and placed them in their place. There are just some sights that just invoke worship!
I"ll leave you with pics of my kids in their new jackets! We didn't know how cold it was going to be up here and ended up having to stop by Target on the way here! As you can see, the boys LOVED their new jackets and everything about this cabin. . .Gracie, on the other hand. . .well, let's just say that this picture perfectly captures her attitude all day!

Oh! I am jealous!! I grew up in Ga, in a small town called Madison-that is apparently growing these days. Sometimes I really still want to go back there. I want my kids to see where I grew up I guess. Madison is known as the town Sherman didn't burn, if you care for a little history on your drive back home :) Lots of Antebellum homes.
I'm guessing you guys are in Helen?

I saw that it was going to be really cold. The stars are amazing-we spent every night in the hot tub with all the lights out so we could take in the awesomeness of GODS creation! We loved the hotdogs over the fire, that was dinner for us one night :-) Hope your mom is feeling 100% now. Enjoy the rest of your time, and post lots of pics!

Gracie expresses my feelings about camping. Although, looks like the boys had a grand time.

If I wasn't sitting in Liberia sweating, I think I'd like to be with my family in N. GA freezing!

I missed out on my family's annual N. GA trip this year...but I hope you're enjoying the mountains with the kids!
