This just in. . .

I just got off the phone with the infamous Katie Davis. She gave me a list of suggested donations for the children we will be seeing in Uganda. I thought you guys would like to know! =)

The trip is finalizing details now. . .Please pray for these women. . and check out where they live because you just MAY live near one of them and be able to collect donations to give them to bring!!!

Steffany B in Missouri
Amanda T in Kansas City
Anne and Jackie in N. Florida
Debbie and Kim in Wisconsin
Ria in Fargo, ND
There are still 2 girls on the fence. Pray for them as they decide.

Want to collect donations? Here's what we are planning on bringing.

Toothbrushes and toothpaste (check out www.southernsavers.com) for the deal that makes toothpaste FREE

Underwear (yes the kids will be excited about this)

Pencils and sharpners

Thanks guys! We will be doing a PlayDate with a Purpose to collect donations from our church family and friends. Let me know if you want ideas on how to throw your own! I will also put up a paypal button in case anyone wants to send money and I'll go to Target and buy these items!

What is a play date with a purpose? How do you do it? Would it work for older kids (teens)

I just wanted to let you know that DollarTree has packages of 20 pencil sharpeners for a dollar. They aren't the nice ones that catch the shavings, but they come in bright colors and shapes. I have bought a bunch to take with me when I go. You can also buy in bulk from DollarTree online. I don't know how long it takes to get them though. Praying for you and your trip.

What is your timeline for collection. I just happened upon this blog and wanted to see if I still had time to get involved.

Thanks. Jen

PS-I am clicking to "email follow-up comments" so you can post here-or on my site. Whichever.
