'Tis So Sweet

As you know, my Friday morning small group just finished
"Trusting God". We LOVED this book! It taught us so much
about who God is and how His sovereignty should impact how
I live my life. We were encouraged to be thankful in
everything and rest in the knowledge that He lets NOTHING
into our lives except for that which is for My Good and His
Glory. Well,yesterday, I was talking to one of the girls
from my group. She said to me (a bit of a paraphrase),
"I'm so thankful to be going through this hard time. I
would usually freak out a bit when struggling, but this time
I'm just thankful b/c I know He wants to use this situation
to teach me something." This morning when I left the gym,
I heard the the song "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus".
I thought to myself, that's what they meant when they wrote
this. The sweetness does come in trusting Him. In relaxing
a bit into His Will. With the overwhelming knowledge that
He is IN CONTROL! Now, I can rest in the sweetness! I've
provided words for you below, but you'll have to sing them
to yourselves b/c I couldn't find the song to play while you read. . .
'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
and to take him at his word;
just to rest upon his promise,
and to know, "Thus saith the Lord."

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
How I've proved him o'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
just to trust his cleansing blood;
and in simple faith to plunge me
neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
just from sin and self to cease;
just from Jesus simply taking
life and rest, and joy and peace.

I'm so glad I learned to trust thee,
precious Jesus, Savior, friend;
and I know that thou art with me,
wilt be with me to the end.

Brandi,
Trusting Jesus is the hardest thing for most Christian's to do but the fruit is SO sweet when we just "Let go and let God" as the saying goes. I'm glad you posted this, it is such a good thing to remember. BTW, Randall is still in Liberia and without a home :( Also, I see that you have a pic with your hubbie in Cali, any chance you are coming soon to the So Cal area? We would love to have you!
Blessings, Faith
